自分が研修していた病院では、「1 年生が使える薬」、「2 年生になったら使える薬」、
「部長を起こさないと使えない薬」というのが決まっていて、救急外来で当直するとき、
特定の薬が使いたかったら、夜中でも部長をたたき起こさないといけなかった。 恐らくは研修医だけで救急外来を回さざるを得なかった時代の名残なんだろうけれど、
たしかにミスは起きようがなかったし、「恐い」薬を使うときには、必然的に、
研修医には「その薬を使う理由」が説明できないといけなかったから、「人間モード」で
仕事せざるを得なかった。 こういう工夫は素朴すぎて、「IT 」みたいなハイカラなやりかたが好きな人は笑うんだけれど、
もう少し見直されてもいいと思う。
